Look out for one another

Ok, that one isn't in the New Testament. But I think it goes pretty well with all the other "one anothers," and certainly is a part of loving one another.

We are looking out for one another at Gateway right now by returning to wearing our masks indoor. As Saskatchewan's COVID rates climb, we need to look out for one another and do what we can to reduce the spread. We are especially mindful of those who aren't able to be vaccinated due to age or other medical conditions. Wearing our masks, even when we are vaccinated ourselves, is one way we can look out for one another.

We love being a part of this community of faith at Gateway that does so much to love and care for one another. As we each experience our own levels of COVID fatigue, I offer you this word of encouragement. You are not in it alone. We love one another. We love you.

GETTING STARTED - MARK CHALLENGE LENT 2021

There are loads of ways that you can join Gateway in our Lenten reading challenge this year. It is our congregation's goal to read through the book of Mark 120 times collectively by Easter. If we all read about a chapter a day or 6 chapters per week, we can do this!

You can access the book of Mark, and the entire bible, in dozens of different translations of Scripture at www.biblegateway.com . We most often use the NIV (New International Version) or NIRV (New International Reader's Version) during our Sunday worship services at Gateway, but different translations work better for different people. Maybe check out a few different versions of of the first chapter of Mark and decide which one you like best.

Another reallly accessible way to encounter the Gospel of Mark is by using the Bible app. Find out more here: https://www.youversion.com/the-bible-app/ . If you download the app, you can friend me on it so we can encourage one another, chat about the text if you have questions, share prayer requests, and even follow a reading plan!

Of course, hard copies of the Bible are hard to beat too. If you are looking for a particular translations or version, let me know in the comments and I will try to help you out.

Kids might enjoy listening to a chapter a day together with you using an audio bible (the Bible app has these). Or you might want to check out these videos The Meeting House has shared on YouTube.
