Dear Gateway -
We are all navigating uncharted waters. It is a deeply uncertain time, but we know some things for certain. Our God’s promises, faithfulness, and love remain the same. His provision never ends. His church will never fail.
Gateway’s Leadership Council met to determine how we will continue to be the church during the necessary restrictions upon our corporate life that the COVID-19 pandemic requires. We are prayerfully discerning the right balance that protects and nurtures our many needs as human-beings: physical, emotional, mental, relational, and spiritual health.
We will be suspending our in-person Sunday morning worship gatherings indefinitely. But we will continue to gather online for prayer, worship, and fellowship. You can join us for worship online here or on our YouTube channel.
Kids’ Klub & Monday Bible Study have also been suspended indefinitely. Pastor Seth will continue to lead his Monday evening Bible study online. Google Hangouts here we come!
The Discipleship Team is working with the pastors to provide resources and support to children and families.
The Spiritual Care Team is working to connect with and provide tech help to our seniors and others who are self-isolating.
The Stewardship & Properties Team is looking after the cleanliness of our facility for those individuals who do need to stop in to the church building as well as coordinating offerings during this time when we cannot meet together physically.
To facilitate giving while we are socially-distancing, any member of the Leadership Council will be happy to come to your house to pick up your offering from your mailbox. If you are able, consider leaving your offering in the lock box inside the church near Pastor Seth's office. We can receive post dated cheques or you can add the church as an automatic debit to your chequing account by contacting Mary Jane.
The Missional Care Team and Council are working to ensure that all of our newer-to-Canada families have the information, resources, and supports that they need.
Pastor Linea and the Peer Support Workers at The Gate are continuing to serve the most vulnerable in our community with bag lunches even though they have had to close the facility.
The Pastors and Leadership Council are willing and able to support you or those you are concerned about it whatever ways we can during this time. Need someone to run errands? Let us know. Feeling lonely or anxious? Let us know. In need of a specific item? Let us know. Concerned about your financial situation? Let us know. Need some family friendly activites? Let us know.

We are in this together, Gateway. It is our prayer that this can be a time of refreshing in the midst of all the other feelings and emotions with which we will wrestle in these days. It is our prayer that God’s goodness will be new to you each morning. It is our prayer that we will help each other and our community with our daily bread – whatever that may be. It is our prayer that you know God more deeply, intimately, clearly, and lovingly than ever before as we draw near to him during this unique time.
Hoping in Him,
for the Pastoral and Leadership Teams
