The Gate

#2 - 101-15th Street East

Prince Albert, SK S6V 1G1

The Gate offers a place to meet and socialize, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and share stories of the journey to health. The Gate is a drop in and resource centre and a point of contact with medical & community services.  The Gate is able to provide a welcoming space for HIV clients to wait and to talk in confidence with a caring person who is a member of the HIV Positive Peer Support Program. HIV Peer Mentors are trained members of the HIV Peer Support Group of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. The peer mentors are present for consultation on a regular basis.

Sack Lunches

The Gate is distributing approximately 40 breakfast bags containing peanut butter & jam sandwiches with a cup of coffee each morning.

In the afternoon, approximately 50 lunch bags of meat or cheese sandwiches, cookie/granola bar, soup, and coffee are distributed.

All containers must be disposable at this time. Items are distributed following SK Health guidelines.

A generous grant from the Riverbank Development Corporation is funding the additional costs associated with the increased use of disposable containers. Thank you!

You can help by donating cookies for the afternoon lunches. Please package the cookies in groups of 2 or 3 in disposable Ziploc baggies.

Contact Tracy Anderson for pick-up of your donations.

Hygiene Bags

Currently, hygiene bags are being distributed on Wednesdays as supplies allow.

Donations of shampoo and lotion are needed at this time. Any size container is welcomed! Empty prescription bottles can also be donated as they are refilled with hygiene supplies.

Hygiene bags provide an important public health service to folks who have limited access to regular places for washing and hand sanitizing.
